Hey, you!

My name is Brooke Schrager and I am so glad that you're here! I am the founder of Lessons By Brooke & Company, LLC, a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP) and a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer (CF-L1).

Health and wellness has been a HUGE part of my life since I can remember. From middle school through college, I gained and lost the same 15-20lbs and now, in my twenties, I am proud to say that I am at my healthiest place mentally, physically, and emotionally.

To make a looong story short, my lifestyle has been on the go- all of the time- since I can remember. My initial turning point happened in June of 2015. I was stressed from graduating college, starting my first "big girl job" as a Junior High School Chorus & Music Teacher, and making the big move from the suburbs to the city. As the school year progressed, I began to realize that I was not happy in my career as a music teacher. I loved my students, but not anything else about the job. I was also exercising 1-2 times a day, 6-7 days a week and eating what I thought to be a healthy diet (low fat, low calorie, low FUN!), as I had for the past few years, but noticed that I wasn't feeling 100%. I was bloated, puffy, exhausted, and not seeing progress in the gym even though I thought I was "on track".

That is when I found the real food community. I had the 21 Day Sugar Detox book by Diane Sanfilippo and began to use recipes from there while I followed more and more people in the "paleosphere"on Instagram ( my favorite social media platform!). After countless hours of reading blogs, researching medical studies, listening to podcasts, and what seemed like endless trial and error, I figured out a way to eat, live and move that worked best for me. Even though I still occasionally have digestive issues and stress in my life, I truly have never felt better!

While moving along on my own healing journey, it was very clear that nutrition was becoming a passion of mine. In June of 2016, I left my full time teaching job, started Lessons By Brooke & Company, LLC., and applied to the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA) to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). Through my NTP program, I learned SO much and am now confident in my ability to educate and empower others to find the knowledge, strength, and balance it takes to live their best lives. No crash diets. No dogma. No stress.

Is it as simple as that? Of course not! But I promise that if you stick around, you will slowly but surely gain confidence in your own ability to lead a well & balanced life!

xo, Brooke
